Project: Riparian planting and seeding on Derby Creek
This fall, Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group will be replacing two undersized culverts on Derby Creek with bridges that will allow for complete fish passage. Once complete, we will need a few volunteers to help revegetate areas that were disturbed during construction. Volunteers can expect to spend the morning preparing the site, planting trees and shrubs, and broadcast seeding a native seed mix.
Location: The project site is on private property a few miles up Derby Creek. Plan on meeting at the Big Y Park and Ride at 8:30 am and we will carpool from there.
What to bring: Please dress appropriate for the day’s weather. Bring all the water/lunch/snacks that you need, work gloves, and work/hiking boots. Waterproof knee boots will be helpful if you have them.
Date and Time: October 23, 2019 from 8:30 am to 1 pm (likely earlier).
Number of Volunteers Needed: 3
